With the passing of Corey Haim on March 10th, we have decided that we’d like to pay a little tribute in our own way to Mr. Haim’s stellar career. First up on our agenda is 1996 film Demolition High, directed by none other than b-movie god, Jim Wynorski. In Demolition High, Haim plays Lenny Slater, a new student at Mayfield High school who hasn’t been able to fit in. He’s from the mean streets of Brooklyn, but he didn’t bargain for his school getting overrun by terrorists on his first day.
If you’re a child of the 80’s then you most certainly remember Corey Haim and the countless hits he was part of. Movies like Lucas, Dream a Little Dream, License to Drive (my favorite), Blown Away and The Lost Boys are movies every teenager watched then, and should be required watching for today’s teens. Corey was one of the biggest teen heartthrobs of the 80’s along side guys like Robert Downey Jr, Judd Nelson and another famous Corey, Corey Feldman, one of his closest friends.
This week, we take a look at the trailer for Lucio Fulci’s Zombi 2
While this movie is known in the states as “Zombie”, the Italian title is Zombi 2 (the original “Zombi” is actually George Romero’s Dawn of the Dead – go figure). In this film, a mysterious boat floats into the New York Harbor. The harbor patrol believes the boat to abandoned, but there’s actually a zombie aboard who attacks the the patrolmen. This leads to an investigation to figure out where the boat and the zombie came from.
We’ll be taking a look at Zombi 2 and it’s sequels, of which there are 3, in the coming weeks so stay tuned for our reviews.
Rudy Ray Moore is the Tucker Williams, the Disco Godfather – the owner of the very popular Blueberry Hill disco. He dances a mean game, and spins an even meaner game from the DJ booth. When his nephew Bucky gets mixed up in some bad business, Tucker takes it upon himself to rid the streets of that bad stuff!
A Priest and an Ex-Cop walk into a bar… Heard that one before? You may have heard that one before, but you probably haven’t seen it before. Tough Guys is exactly that joke, and you’d be surprised how good they work together – and that priest can throw one hell of a slap.
