Imagine making sweet love to a large boobied blonde woman, getting your rocks off one minute, and then getting put into a concentration camp, being tortured and then castrated the next… Yeah… Shitty, eh? If you think that’s bad, that’s all happens within the first 5 minutes of Don Edmonds‘ Ilsa, She Wolf of the SS (1975), starring Dyanne Thorne (of the Ilsa series fame, and Wham Bam Thank You Spaceman)
Ilsa is a Nazi commandant of a concentration camp who believes that women are able to withstand more pain than men and performs grotesque experiments on the women’s bodies in order to prove her theory correctly. She has a penchant for having sex with the male prisoners, and when they can’t please her sexually, she kills them.
When one American who basically can hold himself from cumming meets up with Ilsa, all the good loving she gets from this dude clouds her judgment and allows him the privilege to work above the rules to help plan an escape.
If you’re looking for a movie that shows boobs 80% of the running time, this one is for you. There is gratuitous full frontal female nudity and even a little male frontal nudity thrown in for good measure. There’s also some torture, some gore, and some sex to make it interesting. This is the definition of a sexploitation movie. I’ve seen less sex scenes in some late Saturday night skinamax movies. I bet the Nazi element fulfilled a lot of sick fucks’ fantasies back in the 70’s.
The technical aspects of this one are pretty high grade. The cinematography and direction are pretty good, and the makeup and special effects (the progressing syphilis chicks faces come to mind) are pretty convincing. The acting, on the other hand can be a pretty mixed bag. The accents range from ok to just plain bad, and I wouldn’t be surprised if the actor that plays the main American character was pulled out of the director’s local community theater troupe and put directly into the production.
But really, who are they trying to fool? The whole story line of the Nazi camp is really just a cover up to show more boobs, more bush and more wiener. I’m sure when this movie was released, it was pretty vulgar and shocking. Today, while it’s still a little vulgar, and some of the stuff that goes on can be a little unsettling (even the general who likes to get pissed on), the aforementioned boobs, bush and wiener is probably what most people will still be watching this for, not so much the story. With that in mind Ilsa, She Wolf of the SS lives up to it’s potential.
