I saw this movie recently for the second time two weeks ago. It has truly been overhyped, but you have to admit that if you open yourself, forget about the hype and sympathize for the girls your in for a real disturbing film. The vilians are so well portrayed as you mentioned in your review.

You should check out "THE VIRGIN SPRING" which is the Bergman film that inspired Wes Craven. And I must add that the main girl is so freaking hott !!

I remember seeing this movie as a kid and being too scared to walk my dog afterwards. That really sucked for me since my brothers never had to walk the dog so I was not able to escape my fate.

Luckily I made it back inside without event.....

Anyway, for me, this was a movie that stayed with me long after I saw it. And not necessarily in a good way.
