Puppet Master 4
With the 4th installment of Puppet Master we jump back to the present, well the present of 1993. As we know from Puppet Master 3, Andre Toulon has made his way to the United States to escape the Nazi Gestapo. In part 1 Toulon committed suicide at the Bodega Bay Inn to keep his pursuers from gaining the secrets to reanimating the dead. But his formula and research wasn't completely lost. A group of scientists, including young Rick Myers, are very close to uncovering the secrets to artificial intelligence. To find it they must battle some strange little foes, but not the ones you are probably thinking.
Maniac Cop
The police are supposed to help people. We've been taught this from a very young age, and whenever stories on the 11 o'clock news about a corrupt cop, or an officer that has been charged with a crime - that violates the trust between the police and the public. When you have cops like this one the street, you figure it's just a couple bad apples. But, when you have one on the streets that is killing innocent people and other police officers, that's when you have a MANIAC COP!
Pro-Life
Every now and then, especially during election years, certain topics come to light, such as, separation of church and state, immigration, racism and abortion. While the endless blah blah blahing from either side is enough to make my ears bleed, I thought it was time to get a different perspective.. So that got me thinking, hmm, how would forces of evil deal with these social issues? They already have a lot of issues with separation of church and state because they're always getting exorcised or banished, immigration and racism are not new to them either, with civilians always scolding them, "not in my neighborhood". That leaves abortion. So imagine my delight when I saw this movie sitting on the video rental shelf!
Hatchet
When I saw Machete in the theater back in August they played a metric ass ton of trailers, they always do! After the trailers they played their little theater introduction and then low and behold, another trailer. This one was a little different though, it had that Grindhouse feel to it just like Machete a few years back. It showed a monster of a man, the so-called new icon in horror Victor Crowley, absolutely destroying a bunch of people who had no idea that death stood right around the corner. I looked at my friend and said "it's a shame that's just a fake trailer, Hatchet 2 looks like it would be great!" But why did they skip right to number 2, where was the original. A few weeks later I saw a listing for Hatchet 2 at that same theater, it was real... even though it only lasted a week on the big screen! So I had to seek out Hatchet and find out what all the hype was about.
