Sam Firstenberg is no stranger to B-movie fans.  One of his first directorial efforts was a personal favorite of mine, “Revenge of the Ninja“.  Thankfully, he continued that streak and only took a short break from that genre to film one of the masterpieces of American cinema with “Breakin’ 2: Electric Boogaloo“.  “American Ninja” was next on his plate, and he took an up and coming actor in Michael Dudikoff and made him a B-movie star.  Today I take a look at the sequel – American Ninja 2: The Confrontation!

Super Mario Bros. 2 Super Mario Bros.

If you’ve been reading this site for a while, or if you just peruse the review archives, you’ll notice something about Internal Bleeding.  We love 80′s and 90′s unconditionally, and that love goes hand in hand with our love of the cinema from that period of time.  Along with spending a lot of my formative years watching garbage movies, I also spent a lot of time playing video , and Nintendo in particular.  I can remember spending hours sitting around at either my house or my friend’s houses playing from the Super Mario franchise.  One really strong memory I have is when my friend Bobby told us all that he was getting . 2 for his birthday in October, and that he had already found his copy under his parents bed and had beaten it.  After we had proven that he was a liar, we made sure to promptly beat him.  With all that greatness surrounding that entire series of , you can only imagine the excitement that my friends and I had when we heard the announcement that they were making a SUPER MARIO BROS. MOVIE!

The Perfect Weapon 1 The Perfect WeaponIt doesn’t get much simpler than this:  A boy can’t be controlled by his father, so he enrolls him a class to learn the ways of a martial art – to teach him discipline.  The boy becomes a master of the art, but still hasn’t quite grasped the concept of the discipline part.  After beating up some kid in the schoolyard, he gets banished from his home, and years later returns to reconnect with his old master.  When the master gets murdered, the boy has finally become a man – and a master himself, and avenges his friend.  He has become THE PERFECT WEAPON! :D (that title just begs to be capitalized.)

I like watching a film and then watching the trailer to see how out of order they present everything, or if they give away any of the plot .  You definitely aren’t going to be watching The Perfect Weapon for the plot, but I’ll talk about that more in my review later this week.
