Let Me In

I’m always skeptical of new horror movies that I see in the theater.  Very rarely do they have the scariness or “Oh DAMN” factor that I’m looking for; and I’ve yet to come across anything with a story that engulfed me and actually made me take a step back and think about how meaningful a movie can be… until now!  Let Me In is a remake of the Norwegian movie titled Let the Right One In.  Normally remakes of any kind are garbage, but if you prefer to be 100% in the dark about the movie let me just say that every horror movie fan NEEDS to see this, and preferably in the theater!

The end of the world…  If you put enough credence into the news, it seems like it could come any day now.  Nuclear war, religious cataclysm, nanotechnology, an astronomical event, Justin Beiber and countless other things could ultimately lead to the demise of mankind and civilization as we know it.  Some people think it’s going to happen on December 21st, 2012, but according to the 1985 Canadian film Defcon-4 it could happen as soon as the day after tomorrow. Rudy Ray Moore is the Tucker Williams, the Disco Godfather – the owner of the very popular Blueberry Hill disco.  He dances a mean game, and spins an even meaner game from the DJ booth.  When his nephew Bucky gets mixed up in some bad business, Tucker takes it upon himself to rid the streets of that bad stuff!

The Room

The Room

Everyone has heard the saying, “you don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone.”  Well sometimes you can say “you don’t know what you’ve got until you see an article about it on ABC News!”  Such was the case a few months ago when the guys here at IB came across The Room.  We watched, knowing it was a BAD movie.  But I don’t think we were quite prepared at the time to appreciate just how bad it is.  So after seeing that in a few short months this movie (which is 6 years old) has developed a cult following and is now being called “the Citizen Kane of bad movies”, we just had to sit down and watch it again.  We now bring to you the brilliant misery that is Tommy Wiseau‘s lifelong dream, his baby, his masterpiece… we bring you The Room!
