Nightmare (aka Nightmare in a Damaged Brain)
Not much good can come from a mental patient on the lam. You're either gonna hear about them standing in a busy intersection, swinging a samurai sword and getting subdued by pepper spray, or they're putting themselves or someone else in some pretty big danger. You gotta feel bad for them, especially if it's something that happened in their childhood that caused such emotional harm - and that's exactly George Tatum's problem in Romano Scavolini's 1981 film Nightmare (aka Nightmare in a Damaged Brain).
It’s Alive
If you read this site every so often, you might notice that there haven't been any updates recently. The reason for that is my wife had a baby the second week of June and I haven't gotten a chance to take a shit without falling asleep, let alone watch and review any movies. Thankfully, I was able to peel myself away for a hour and a half and watch Larry Cohen's 1974 film "It's Alive", which is about what else? A baby that kills people. Sounds like a great movie for a new parent to watch, right?. Let's examine it a little further, shall we?
Zombie (aka Zombi 2)
An opening shot of a man shooting a gun at what appears to be a body tied up in a canvas bag and a single line of dialog - "The boat can leave now, tell the crew" is the only clue Lucio Fulci provides you before the title of Zombie. Next we know, that boat is sailing aimlessly into the New York harbor, where some Coast Guard officers find what's left of the crew - a lone decaying zombie - and it's got a hankerin' for some fresh flesh.
Deadgirl
Over the last 2 years at Internal Bleeding we have tackled a lot of strange movies, both with sick and twisted stories, and those with questionable moral values... or at least we thought! Deadgirl makes those movies look like the Disney Sunday Movie in comparison. To give away the plot of the story in the opening paragraph not only ruins the dark and disturbing premise of the film but also tests the moral fiber of this website for describing something that not everyone in this world is prepared to read. I'm sure you think that we are just over-reacting and hyping up the storyline too much, but trust us, it's not for the faint of heart!
