Pro Life 4 300x168 Pro Life

Every now and then, especially during election years, certain topics come to light, such as, separation of church and state, immigration, racism and abortion.  While the endless blah blah blahing from either side is enough to make my ears bleed, I thought it was time to get a different perspective..  So that got me thinking, hmm, how would forces of evil deal with these social issues?  They already have a lot of issues with separation of church and state because they're always getting exorcised or banished, immigration and racism are not new to them either, with civilians always scolding them, "not in my neighborhood".  That leaves abortion.  So imagine my delight when I saw this movie sitting on the video rental shelf!

Prince of Darkness

Prince Of Darkness 1 300x166 Prince of Darkness

It would be hard to argue that the movie scene wasn't ruled by John Carpenter.  The Fog, The Thing, and Christine were a few of the best.  Even movies like They Live and Big Trouble in Little China had some elements of horror.  Throw in Halloween from 1978 and you have a career that today's horror writers/directors can only dream of having!  I had seen the movies I listed above, but never seen one of Carpenter's more obscure flicks, Prince of Darkness.  I can't remember any other movies which focus on the return of the , and since there isn't a chance in HELL of me seeing the most recent movie, I thought I'd give this one a shot.

The Fog (1980)

title The Fog (1980)

I can honestly say I am not a huge fan of remakes.  They very rarely turn out as good as the original.  But lets face it, even new Hollywood stories aren't too good now days.  So I thought rather than watching the remake of The Fog I would take a peek at the classic by John Carpenter.  For whatever reason I had never seen this movie, but I got a few recommendations that it is one I can't miss.  And hell, Carpenter's The Thing was freaky as anything I've ever seen so why not give it a shot.
